The name “Degar” comes from the Degeres mountains, located in the Zhambyl region of the Almaty oblast. It was here that Nauryzbai Batyr, the local peoples’ newly elected chieftain, established his headquarters in 1729. According to legend, this place, Basbatyr, was the best position for fending off the attacks of the Dzungar army.
Baygozha Shora Toybayuly (1941-2008) founded the company in November 1992. Born in Degeres village and filled with the patriotic spirit of this land, this seasoned geologist started his company from scratch, relying only on his own rich experience and knowledge.
Despite the difficulties of transitioning to a market economy and of economic crises, the small business steadily gained momentum. By 2008, the company had become a medium sized business. Please see “Services”
